Presented by the Center for the Study of World Religions at Harvard Divinity School, Five Books and Wonderstruck
Is wisdom a virtue, a faculty, or something else? Is it the capacity to live a rich and meaningful life?
The ability to navigate the stormy seas of our inner worlds and our communal lives? A transcendent principle or divine person with whom we can, or perhaps should, enter into union or communion? The practice of perceiving reality through the myriad appearances that constitute life, moment by moment? A constellation of these and more? And is wisdom actively cultivated and transmitted today and, if so, how and by whom?
This symposium will gather together scholars and practitioners for presentations, dialogue, and practice at the beautiful Domaine de Primard, just outside of Paris. We will engage both western and non western traditions. Issues to be explored include: the role of the feminine and the place of the body, physical and subtle.
